YOUR VISIT

Welcome to River Falls Eye Surgery and Laser Center! We are so pleased that you are trusting us with the care of your sight! You have your appointment date and time, what’s next?

If you provided an email address, you will be sent an email inviting you to join our patient portal. Once you have joined, you are able to complete most of your registration and health history online.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we request that you notify us 24 hours in advance of your appointment time. This gives us time to schedule other patients that may be waiting for an appointment.

If you arrive more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, you may need to be rescheduled.

When you arrive for your appointment, please check in at the front desk. You will be asked for your photo ID and any insurance cards. We will scan these into our system so we have a record of this information during your care.

There will be several forms to review and sign:

You will be expected to pay any copay amounts at the time of service.

Once registered, you will be asked to have a seat in our waiting room. Please note that Dr. Novak is a specialist and often has medical emergencies which may increase your wait time. We will make every effort to have you seen as soon as possible.

You will then be roomed in an exam room where an ophthalmic technician will review your history, medications, reason for your visit, etc. The technicians will perform several tests to check your vision and your health.

The doctor will then enter the room and perform the exam. The doctor may have a scribe in the room to record and note the exam. You may also have scans of your eye if needed.

Upon the completion of our exam, you will be directed to the front desk to pick up any glasses prescriptions or to make any appointments for follow-up care. If you would like a summary of your visit, please note that you will have access to your notes via the patient portal. If you are not signed up for the portal, please ask the front desk and one can be printed for you.

Medication prescriptions will be sent to your pharmacy electronically.
