Ptosis Correction Surgery is a surgical procedure done to correct the ptosis condition. Ptosis [toe-sis] is when one or both of you upper eyelids droop. This can limit your peripheral vision (side vision) or central vision. If you have ptosis in one eye only, your face may appear uneven. If both eyelids droop, you can appear tired.
People can be born with ptosis or develop it later in adult life. Ptosis can occur in all age groups and result from various factors. The surgery is done to tighten the muscles that lift the eyelid. The surgery is performed on an outpatient basis. The procedure generally takes about 45-90 minutes to complete.
